Big BenOk as usual reading the BBC news site and I found an interesting story about a report that has recently been compiled by a company called Demos. The report looks into the way the government is looking after our data. (You know whats coming right…..?)

The report concluded the following:

The government needs to ensure greater protection for people’s personal information, a think-tank has said.”

I mean holy fricking shit Sherlock, has the government not just lost half of the countries personal data on a couple of CD’s? I mean does it really take a “Think Tank” to come up with that finding? What is this country coming to, why not find solutions to real problems and stop stating the fricking obvious!

Jail CellOk gripe time! I have just read the BBC News website which I do on a daily basis, many of the news stories on the site wind me up, many make me smile, many make me want to write a blog on. For example I actually held back writing a blog about the Teddy Bear incident recently. Basically knowing that millions of people would be blogging about it.

So the blog today is for this particular story which is about a man who has brutally murdered his wife by stabbing her over 100 times with a knife. Ok the actual act is disgusting and hey we don’t need to point that out, however what appals me is the story says he will service a minimum of 12.5 years.

Now 12.5 years is fricking nothing!?!?!? There has been a story recently about prison overcrowding in the UK well with sentencing like that no wonder people re-offend. 12 years in a prison for taking a life is appalling. That person should be locked away until they die. Or better still he fricking admitted the crime therefore shoot the bastard and be done with it.

The sentencing of crime in the UK is a joke, people re-offend because there is nothing to put them off re-offending. Also for some a stretch behind bars, getting 3 meals a day and having somewhere to watch TV, play sports, talk with other crims and make better contacts and having a warm dry place to sleep is a better option than what they have on the outside!??!

This country needs to wake up!! Our government needs to start listening to the people!

BinsSo local councils in England are to be given the power to introduce pilot schemes where households will be charged according to how much rubbish they throw away. Please could someone tell me why this is fair on people who already pay the high cost of council tax?

The pay-as-you-throw scheme aims to encourage people to recycle!

Defra published a document that revealed that charges are included in the Climate Change Bill. Which is basically giving the power to introduce these ludicrous schemes to the local councils.

Gordon Brown is said to be unenthusiastic about the idea (behind in the polls currently, I am sure if he was not he would think this was a great idea).

MPs have warned us that apparently we could face fines of up to £180m a year from the European Commission if we do not cut the amount of waste dumped in landfill sites.

SO basically what we have here is another crisis (apparently) that the only way the government know how to resolve is to again apply a stealth tax which is essentially what this is.

I can remember a time when people held banners high saying “Time for a change”, well I hope they did not throw those banners away as I feel it is time to tell Labour to go take a hike! “Time for a change” anyone!
